This paradise of a wedding is very dear to my heart. Jess (the bride) and I are good friends. She is the type of friend that you can go months without talking to + pick up right where you left off. She is very special to me + I’m elated that she has found the love of her life. It was fun to finally meet Phil. I can see why she adores him. I had so much fun capturing their ocean front, beach wedding. Enjoy a few of my favorites from their beautiful day.
“We met as co-workers in a Title I middle school working for Virginia Beach City Public Schools. I teach Science and Phil teaches Math. I thought Phil looked familiar, but couldn’t place it at the time. He was my neighbor at the apartment complex we were living in at the time. We shared a courtyard and our balconies were across from one another. From there, we started carpooling to work to “save gas” and became best friends. Our commute included laughter, conversation, and lots of dancing. We fell in love and bought our dream home which is a few blocks from the oceanfront. We cannot wait to spend our summers off together at the beach.”
“But she said, where’d you wanna go?
How much you wanna risk?
I’m not looking for somebody
with some superhuman gifts.
some fairy tale bliss.
Just something I can turn to,
somebody I can kiss
I want something just like this.”
